John Moorehead graduated from The Queen’s University of Belfast Medical School in 1978. His surgical training was carried out in Northern Ireland and Hong Kong. He was first appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in 1989. His main areas of interest are colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, haemorrhoids, biliary disease, colonoscopy and day surgery for conditions such as hernia.
He is a member of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, The Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, The Irish Association of Coloproctology, The European Society of Coloproctology, The Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons, The British Society of Gastroenterology and The Irish Society of Gastroenterology. He has many years experience in medical negligence work and is on the UK Register of Medical Expert Witnesses.
